GROOMING YOUR ALD

DEMO VIDEO

This is a basic grooming video for an Australian Labradoodle and an accompanying manual, provided by the Australian Labradoodle Association of America.

TOP OF THE HEAD

Cut at an angle pointing downward about 1/2 inch off the back of the head; hair should part in the middle and fall on both sides.

BANGS

Cut an inverted V in between using regular scissors.

EYES

Use thinning shears to clip inside corner of eyes.

FRONT OF EARS

Cut the bottom 1/2 to the tip just below the ear leather.

CHIN & BEARD

Using the thinning shears, start just below the ear and cut down towards the chin.

PRIVATE PARTS

Keep the private areas trimmed and un-matted for sanitary reasons.

BACK OF THE EARS

Taper ends and blend with thinning shears.

NOSE & MUZZLE

Use thinning shears, cut straight down to the bottom of the muzzle.

TAIL

Brush or comb then trim under the tail with scissors for natural look.

EARS AT THE TIP

Cut hair front the base or back of the ear to the tip of the ear.

LEGS & BODY

Use an extension comb or long blade to comb over body and legs. the length on legs should be one notch longer than the body.

FEET

Scissor around bottom edge of each paw and trim hair between pad with a #10 blade.
